The South Tyrolean percussion ensemble “conTakt percussion-group” was founded in 2007 by Manfred Gampenrieder, Philipp Höller, Georg Malfertheiner and Christian Miglioranza. The graduates of the Bolzano Music Conservatory and members of the EUYO and GMJO youth orchestras can look back on several years of concert experience. The quartet's main aim is to present the broadest possible spectrum of percussion literature, both from the classical and contemporary repertoire. The ensemble has already performed at renowned festivals in Italy and abroad: “transart” and ‘Festival Zeitgenössischer Musik’ Bozen, ‘Klangspuren’ Schwaz, ‘Musik und Kirche’ Brixen, the ‘Gustav Mahler Musikwochen’ Toblach, ‘valgardenaMUSIKA’, ‘Badiamusica’, ‘Amici della Musica’ Modena. Further collaborations have taken place with the “Ensemble Gherdëina”, the “Soncino Percussion Ensemble”, the contemporary dancer Anastasia Kostner, the vocal ensemble “Pinzimonio Vocale”, the US percussionist Doug Perkins, the Norwegian artist Maja Ratkje and the North Tyrolean percussion ensemble “the next step”. Numerous composers have dedicated their own works to the “conTakt percussion-group” in collaboration with the SKB Südtiroler Künstlerbund. In fall 2019, the ensemble recorded its first own recording with 6 works by 6 South Tyrolean composers.
